FKA Festival
One of my favourite creative projects.
I collaborated with the internal events team and senior management at Hope Estate to produce design and marketing solutions for a new live music event in the Hunter Valley named FKA Festival. I was able to be involved in the concept and naming of the festival, through to leading its creative direction and completing all of the required design and marketing work.
Given the name of the festival being an acronym, I wanted to aim for a bit of a monogram and stamp style for the logo.I opted for a free-flowing typeface and used large block letters contorted into one another and confined into a circle to create a design in of itself.
For the visual identity of the brand, I tried to incorporate elements of 60s-esque ‘Grateful Dead’ style design mixed with some more modern typography and colour palette for contrast.
Collaborated with the in-house brewery and sales teams to produce a speciality beer, a Mango Sour, as part of the marketing campaign for the event. I was able to adapt the design of the event poster to the format of a printed can label and beer tap badge.
There was a wide range of designs that were required for marketing materials and advertisement of the event.
I designed and oversaw production of numerous print media, including festival posters, flyers, lanyards, stickers and more.
Some other interesting tasks included producing designs of scrim for the stage and entryway scaffolding as well as designing merchandise and t-shirts.
Digital media was also a large part of the event marketing, requiring me to design a suite of web advertising (MRECS, billboards, squares, leaderboards, animated GIFS, etc.) and adapting them to the requirements of a range of digital advertisers and websites. You can see some examples of this below.
